Open House & Stop and Drop Night

You are invited to drop by to meet your child’s teacher and show your child where their room is located. At this time, you may also bring your child’s supplies. Avoid the confusion of that hectic 1st day of school.

Adams Central will be have staff development every Wednesday morning until 8:30am and AC will start at 8:30am on Wednesdays!

This schedule change will affect our bus shuttle to St. Joe. Parents will have two options:

1. Parents transport their child to Adams Central. Our St. Joe bus will pick them at AC at 7:45am and transport them to St. Joe
2. Parents will transport their child directly to St. Joe. Student will need to be at St. Joe no later than 7:55am.

You must stick with one option. You may not switch your choice from day to day.

The St. Joe bus will still make their run through the Oakwood addition. The bus will go through the addition on their way to Adams Central. These riders should be ready by 7:30am.

St. Joseph School will implement a new hot lunch program called The Lunch Box.

Parents may now pay in advance for their child’s lunch. Please refer to the letter from North Adams Community Schools concerning this program. Many of you have asked if this would ever be a possibility. We are excited to offer this to our parents.

We will be collecting lunch money at registration on Monday, August 9th. We encourage parents to pay at this time. Details on how to replenish your account will follow in one of our August newsletters.

St. Joseph School has a standardized dress policy for all elementary and middle school students. A standardized dress policy encourages students to express their individuality through personality and academic achievements, not outward appearances.

Please refer to your letter and dress policy which was mailed to you June 10, 2010 – changes to the dress policy include:

• Sweat, athletic, or flannel pants or shorts may not be worn
• Shirts and pants may not have any writing, characters or decals of any type except for a small logo (no larger than a credit card)

I know this will be an adjustment for many. We will work through this together. Please note: St. Joe Pridewear may be worn anytime. Students are required to wear nice clothes when they attend they all-school Mass on Thursdays.
