Please listen to WZBD Radio during CSW.  Students, teachers, volunteers and others will be part of the radio station’s broadcasts throughout the week.  We thank the businesses that are sponsoring these radio spots.

 Sunday, January 30, 2011 Minimize

Pancake & Sausage Breakfast 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Do you have your tickets yet?  Contact an 8th grade student or call the school office.  Adults are $5.50, Children (4-12) are $3.00 and anyone three and under is free.  The breakfast is from 7:00am to 1:00pm.

CSW Mass
The 8:30am Mass is the official opening of CSW.   The Distinguished Graduate, Senior Volunteer, St. Joe Outstanding Volunteers of the Year, and the Business Partnership awards will be presented to the recipients during Mass.  We will also recognize our St. Joe “Light of Learning” recipient, Mrs. Brite. 

We are pleased to announce that the following are the recipients for the 2010/2011 school year:
Distinguished Graduate Award - Ruth Wilder
St. Joe Senior Volunteer - Tim Barkey
St. Joe Outstanding Volunteers - Mike & Patty Ainsworth and Joann Okoniewski 
Business & Partnership Award - Heyerly Ice

Open House
Parents and visitors may tour the school from 8:00a.m to NOON.

Book Fair
Don’t forget to check out the Book Fair while you are in the building.  It is located on 3rd floor.  Look for the signs!  If you are not able to come on Sunday, your child may go to the fair during the week with his/her class.  Order forms for the book fair were sent home in the January 21st packet.

  

 Monday, January 31, 2011 Minimize

Proclamation
Mayor Schultz and invited City Council members will be here Monday, January 31st for the reading of the CSW Proclamation. Anyone wishing to attend this program is invited.  It will begin at 8:15am with a prayer, lead by Father Dave and a welcome address from Mrs. Hormann. It will be held in the auditorium.

Staff and students will write a prayer intention on paper and then a chain will be made and hung in the auditorium. 

Each day, beginning with the Proclamation, we will pray for our intentions.

Other Activities
Green and Gold Day
11:00am – Noon:  Staff luncheon hosted by the HASA “Apple Team”
1:30pm – Family Feud:  Staff vs Staff – in the auditorium

Each classroom will team up with another room for fun

Ice Cream!
Students will get a Dairy Queen treat

Team Day
Students may wear their favorite team shirt, sweatshirt, hat, sweatpants or athletic pants

  

 Wednesday, February 2, 2011 Minimize

Join in the Fun
9:30-10:30 – Students will play bingo in the auditorium

Funny Feet Day
Students may wear their slippers, silly socks or mismatched shoes – In honor of “Funny Feet Day”, we are asking families to donate new socks of all sizes:  men, women, children, and infants.  You may send your donations with your child to school during CSW.  The socks will be given to places throughout the community, such as The Hope Clinic, The Women’s Shelter, and St. Vincent de Paul to name a few.  Please help St. Joseph School make our CSW mission a success.

Pizza Hut is served at lunch. Students recieve a surprise at lunch.

All School Mass
8:15am – All School Mass – students should dress nice

No homework is assigned for tonight – no tests

Entertainment
8:30am – Grades 5-8 – students treated to a movie – popcorn free, pop 50¢, candy 50¢12:30pm – Grades K-4 – students treated to a movie - popcorn free, pop 50¢, candy 50¢
Students may dress in their comfy clothes – wear sweatshirts, athletic pants or flannel pants
