 2010 - 2011 Scholarship Awards Presentation Minimize
Our annual scholarships will be presented at the all-school Mass on Friday, May 28th.
 
In past years, scholarships were awarded to students on recommendations from teachers and staff. This year we are changing our format. We are asking families to apply for these various scholarships. Please check the flyer which is included in your packet for details about each scholarship. You may find the applications on our website stjosephdecatur.org or pick one up at the school office.
 
In order for everything to be in place by May 28th, the deadline to return your application will be Monday, May 10th. Please call Mrs. Hormann or Mrs. Beery if you have any questions.

 Rita Girard Music Scholarship Minimize
This scholarship is for any age student at St Joe School, and others in Adams County, who wishes to receive private vocal or instrumental instruction. It has been developed to financially assist students who wish to advance the skill level of their musical talents.
 
The scholarship is an endowed fund within the Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF).
The simple two page application is available from Mrs. Emenhiser, St. Mary’s Church office, or the ACCF, 102 N 2ND St Decatur. ACCF hours are M-F, 8-4; please contact the office if you have questions; phone

5 - $250.00 Scholarships

No criteria – any grade

Dave & Betty Terveer Scholarship

3 - $250.00 Scholarships
1 for $250.00 for a girl or boy presently in 6th or 7th grade
1 for $250.00 for a boy presently in grade 6th or 7th grade
1 for $250.00 for a boy presently in grade 6th or 7th grade

Established by Dave Terveer and funded through Adams County Community Foundation

Criteria

  • Student must be in 6th or 7th grade
  • Academic achievement must be in the top ½ of class
  • Must display and give evidence of leadership abilities in school, church and community
  • Participation in various athletic teams as offered by St. Joseph School
  • Shows desire to succeed
  • Shows good sportsmanship and sets good example as a St. Joseph School student

AL Lindhal All American Scholarship

2 - $200.00 Scholarships
Established by Char Lindhal and daughters and funded through the Lindhal family
Chosen by the Lindhal family

Criteria

  • 1 girl & 1 boy presently in the 6th or 7th grade
  • Exceptional reader, possibly helps others read
  • Participates in Mass by serving, cantering, and/or reader
  • Active in sports (player or manager)
  • Values his/her education
  • Lives his/her life with honesty and integrity
  • This award will not be determined by financial need
 
St. Vincent de Paul Memorial Scholarship:
4 - $250.00 Scholarships

Criteria

  • Student must be presently in grades 4-7
  • 75% - financial need
  • Christian Outlook – helpful, honest, courteous, respectful to others, positive demeanor, participates in church, etc.
 

Full Tuition Scholarship

1 - $1800.00 Scholarship
Funded by St. Joseph School

Criteria

  • Student must be member of St. Mary’s Parish who is presently attending a public school with the desire to join our St. Joe Faith Community.
