Newsworthy Notes....

Light of Learning Nomination Forms--If you believe that a teacher at St. Joe School is a true example of a person who lives their faith, loves our students, and makes a real difference in their lives, please nominate them for the Light of Learning. A letter detailing the qualities an awardee must possess and the Light of Learning nomination forms are available on the school website or they may be picked up in the school office.

Prayers for our Seminarians-Each classroom has a poster with the names and pictures of the diocesan seminarians. There are just over 30 of them this year.  We will be including a prayer for a specific seminarian each day during morning announcement/prayer.  Teachers have the contact information for them, and they will include activities this year to send them encouragement as they discern this laudable vocation.  We ask that you might pray for them as well. You can find a copy of the seminarian poster at and clicking on the seminarian tab, will show the poster. Without great priests, how can the Church continue to grow? Let’s give them all the help we are able.

Hurricane Relief for victims of Harvey and Irma--Many have donated money to the Red Cross, sent semi loads of food, clothing, and blankets to those affected by hurricane damage, and we, too, want to support the victims. We have been encouraged to support the National Catholic Education Association(NCEA) in their efforts to help Catholic Schools that were damaged by the hurricanes.  They are asking every Catholic school student to give at least $1.00. 100% of the funds will go to the relief effort, NCEA will keep nothing. We will give students 2 dress down Thursdays to raise funds. Watch your calendars.
